Thunder Surge Past Spurs to Take Series Lead
OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma City Thunder weathered an early storm from the San Antonio Spurs before pulling away for a decisive 123-108 victory in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals on Friday night.
SGA Leads the Charge
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander delivered another MVP-caliber performance with 26 points in 36 minutes, orchestrating the Thunder's offense with his signature blend of crafty drives and mid-range precision. After trailing by 12 in the first quarter, OKC outscored San Antonio 68-46 in the middle two quarters to take control.
Wembanyama's Heroics Not Enough
Victor Wembanyama posted 30 points and 14 rebounds for the Spurs, continuing his remarkable playoff debut. The 7-foot-4 phenom has been San Antonio's best player throughout the postseason, but OKC's depth and defensive versatility have proven difficult to overcome.
Series Shifts to OKC's Favor
The Thunder now lead 2-1 with Game 4 on Sunday in Oklahoma City. A win would put the West's No. 1 seed one victory away from the NBA Finals.
